Estelle Marie Kaiser, 94, Holland

Estelle Marie Kaiser, 94, of Holland, died Wednesday, October 9, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Zoar November 9, 1924, to Louis and Viola (Ingram) Weitkamp. She married Harold “Boom” Kaiser June 20, 1946. He died February 4, 1983.

Estelle was a 1941 graduate of Stendal High School. She and Boom were co-owners and founders of Boom’s Café in Holland where she was known for her homemade pies. They also operated The Holland Dairy Barn and Kaiser’s Café. She was also previously employed at The Jasper Country Club, Holland Industries, and Katter’s Grocery Store in Stendal. She enjoyed watching Indiana University basketball and liked cooking for her family and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Hunefeld and husband Lloyd, Sellersburg; two sons, Joe Kaiser and wife Lim, San Diego, California, and Mark Kaiser, Holland, who was also her caregiver; three granddaughters, April Stewart and husband Monty, Amber McNew and husband Kevin, and Rachel Kaiser; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Floyd Weitkamp, and three sisters, Luana Walker, Norma McAllister, and Opal Leingang.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Monday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Holland.  Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul Church. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church with burial following in the church cemetery. Pastor Debbie Roe will officiate at the service.
