Henrietta C. Buechler, 92, Jasper

Henrietta C. Buechler, 92, of Jasper, died Wednesday, October 2, at her home. She was born in Mariah Hill June 15, 1927, to Paul and Philomina (Schum) Buechler. She married Clarence A. Buechler August 25, 1951, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand. He died March 4, 2004.

Henrietta was a homemaker and worked part time at Paco’s restaurant in Jasper. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and its St. Anne’s Sodality. She enjoyed bicycling, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Ann Sasso and husband Tony, Colts Neck, New Jersey; five sons, Paul Buechler and wife Jean, Shawnee, Kansas, Dr. Tom Buechler and wife Julie, Tony Buechler and wife Milissa, and Jim Buechler and wife Colleen, all of Jasper, and John Buechler and wife Jennifer, Indianapolis; and 17 seventeen grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three sisters, Alma Kaelin, Marcella Schipp, and Emma Wilmes; and two brothers, Herbert and Bernard.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Church or to a favorite charity.
