Thursday Night Sports Results

Dubois County (NNDC):  Here is a look at the action packed Thursday night in area high school sports.

Volleyball

(Varsity) Jasper 3 – Southridge 1 — 25-17, 22-25, 25-16, 25-19

(Junior Varsity) Jasper 2 – Southridge 0 — 25-11, 25-16

(Varsity) Northeast Dubois 3 – Shoals 0 — 25-22, 25-17, 25-12

(Junior Varsity) Northeast Dubois 2 – Shoals 0 — 25-19, 25-17

The Jasper Wildcats and Southridge Raiders went head to head on Thursday.   In a tough matchup between the two county teams, it was the Wildcats who earned the 4 set victory over the Raiders.  Allison Mair led the charge for Jasper with 18 kills and 3 aces.  Izzy Hopf and Riley Merder each added 12 kills a piece with Regan Egbert adding 11 kills.   Kayla Fuhs picked up 21 digs for the defense and Kate Green had a season high 55 assists.
For Southridge,  Anna Altstadt and Bailey Keusch led the Raiders with 8 kills each.  Altstadt also had 8 blocks and 2 aces.  Rose Tempel, Maddy Songer and Keusch had 11 digs for Southridge.  Songer also had 14 assists and Savanah Goeppner added 8.

The Northeast Dubois Jeeps hosted Shoals on Thursday night in a Blue Chip Conference matchup and had no trouble disposing of the Jug Rox in straight sets.  Regan Knies had 3 aces for the Jeeps.   Chloe Terwiske had 10 kills, Hadley Fuhrman added 6 while Taylor Dodd and Rhylan Kalb had 5 kills each.  Mia Smith led the way with 26 digs while Hadley Fuhrman had 20 and Chloe Terwiske 18.  Rhylan Kalb, Hadley Fuhrman and Taylor Dodd each had one block.  Terwiske also led the team in assists with 30.   In JV action, the Jeeps pick up the 2 set victory over Shoals.

Soccer

(Boys) Jasper 0 – Washington 0 — The Jasper Wildcats and Washington Hatchets played 94 minutes of scoreless soccer with Washington winning the shootout 4-3.

(Boys) Southridge 2 – Northeast Dubois 1

(Girls) Jasper 3 – Boonville 0

Tennis

(Varsity) Northeast Dubois 5 – South Knox 0

(Junior Varsity) Northeast Dubois 6 – South Knox 0

The Northeast Dubois Jeeps shutout South Knox on the tennis courts.  Winners for the Jeeps include: Reece Bauer (#1 singles), Aden Thewes (#2 singles), Tucker Neukam (#3 singles), Ethan Ziegler/Luke Harder (#1 singles), Tanner Hurt/Ross Mehringer (#2 doubles)
