Behind the Scenes Water Plant Tour, Patoka Lake Water District available in October

The Patoka Lake Water and Sewer District welcomes the public to a tour of their Water Plant! Plant staff will lead guided tours on Thursday, October 10, 2019. Registration for this free event begins at 5:45 PM EDT. Come out and see where the best tasting water in southern Indiana comes from!

Naturalists from the Patoka Lake Nature Center will have a birds of prey presentation, and Julie Loehr, Middle Patoka River Watershed Coordinator will be on hand to share information about our local creeks, streams, and lakes…our drinking water sources. Refreshments will be available, and attendees may also tour the UV building.

Space is limited on the tours, so reservations are limited to 60 people. The start time of the tours will be staggered, so all on the tour will be able to see and hear. Presentations will begin at 6 PM, and the last tour will conclude by 8:15.

The Patoka Lake Water and Sewer District is located at 2647 N. State Road 545, Dubois IN. This event is free, but reservations are a must! RSVP by contacting the Dubois County Soil and Water Conservation District at (812) 482-1171 Ext. 3, or by e-mail at

The Behind the Scenes Water Plant Tour is sponsored by the Patoka Lake Watershed Steering Committee, Middle Patoka River Watershed 319 Project, and the Patoka Lake Regional Water and Sewer District.
