Patricia Ann “Pat” Meyer, 88, Jasper

Patricia Ann “Pat” Meyer, 88, of Jasper, died Thursday, September 12, at Brookside Village in Jasper. She was born in Ferdinand October 24, 1930, to Edward and Loretta (Barth) Seufert. She married Charles Meyer September 27, 1957, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand. He died May 3, 2004.

Pat was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. She was an avid fan of Forest Park sports, the St. Louis Cardinals, and Purdue Boilermakers. She graduated from St. Joseph’s nursing school in 1951 and was a registered nurse for 40 years. She worked at Memorial Hospital in Jasper and for Doctors Ploetner, Beaven and Kemker. She enjoyed sewing, dancing, and music and was a dear friend to the Sisters of St. Benedict.

She is survived by one daughter, Jackie Kempf and husband Scott, St. Anthony; two sons, Stephen G. Meyer, Ferdinand, and Duane T. Meyer, Portersville; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one sister, Vita Bartley, Ferdinand.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, John Seufert.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 7-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ferdinand Church with burial in the church cemetery at a later date.
