Dubois County (NNDC):  A busy Saturday involving the area high school sports teams as the fall season in winding down.   A look at the results are listed below.

Volleyball

Providence 3 – Jasper 0 — 25-13, 25-21, 25-11 (Reagan Egbert 5 kills, Kayla Fuhs 8 digs)

Carmel 3 – Jasper 0 — 25-6, 25-17, 25-10 (Kayla Fuhs 8 digs, Reagan Egbert 7 digs – 4 kills – 2 aces, Grace Kizior and Kate Green each had 4 assists)

Soccer

Jasper 1 – Princeton 0 (Sam Leonard goal in the 5th minute, Wildcats are now 3-0 in Big 8 Conference play)

Forest Park 4 – Pike Central 0 (FP goals: Conner Knies scored in the 1st half, JD Kerber had 3 goals in the 2nd half – Zach Wahl recorded his 3rd shutout of the year)

Golf

Big 8: Jasper 378, Mount Vernon 396, Washington 434, Vincennes Lincoln 460, Boonville 479, Princeton 509.

The Jasper Wildcats won the Big 8 golf tournament on Saturday at Christmas Lake.   The Wildcats finished with an overall score of 378.   Halle Knies finished 2nd with a score of 90,  Elizabeth Ackerman finished 3rd,  Avery Bartley 4th, Anna Schmitt finished in 9th place and Ainsley Pierce 11th.   Knies, Ackerman and Bartley also earned individual all conference.

The Jasper boys and girls cross country teams had outstanding finishes at the Eagle Classic put on by Brown County High School.  On the boys side, the Wildcats finished 4th out of 16 teams.   Breaking the school 5k record, Jackson Miller ran a 15:40 while placing 4th.  Abe Eckman (16:13), Drew O’Neil (16:18), Jaryn Weinel (16:40), Will Gubbins (17:21), Harrison Hulsman (17:29), Cameron Eckstein (17:31) and Seth Eckert (18:00) completed the strong team finish.

The Lady Wildcats finished a strong 5th place in the big school division.  Kelsea Skorge led the way with a 5k time of 20:49, Amanda Schnell (21:37), Kathryn McCoy (21:40), Mayson VanMeter (22:15), Niya Zazzetti (22:37), Kylee Weisheit (22:53) and Lydia Grow (23:19) round out the top 7 for the Jasper Lady Wildcats.   Andi Van Meter ran in the Elite Girls Race and finished with a personal best 5k time of 18:31 while placing 6th.
