Thursday Sports Results

Dubois County (NNDC):  The fall sports schedule is in full swing and the dry weather has helped keep the local teams schedules on track.   A look at Thursday nights sports results are listed below.


(Varsity) Jasper 3 – Gibson Southern 0 — 25-14, 25-23, 25-20

(Junior Varsity) Jasper 2 – Gibson Southern 0 — 25-21, 25-14

(Varsity) Evansville Mater Dei 3 – Southridge 0 — 22-25, 19-25, 10-25

(Junior Varsity) Evansville Mater Dei 2 – Southridge 0 — 13-25, 12-15

Jasper defeated Gibson Southern in straight sets on Thursday as the Wildcats defeated the Titans in straight sets.  Caroline Kaiser, Reagan Egbert and Riley Merder all had 6 kills, while Izzy Hopf and Allison Mair added 4 kills each.  Kate Green paced the Wildcats with 25 assists.   Egbert also led Jasper with 13 digs while Jayden Pfister added 12 digs.  The JV Wildcats also won in straight sets with Grace Kisior leading Jasper with 4 aces and 7 assists.  Haley Love added 9 digs while Brynne Brosmer added 8 digs in the win.   Bailey Lents had 5 kills and 2 blocks while Kennedy Matheis had 4 kills and 2 blocks.

The Southridge Raiders struggled against Evansville Mater Dei on Thursday night as the Wildcats won in straight sets.    The leaders for the Raiders include: Kills: Myah Montgomery 6, Rose Tempel 5,  Digs: Rose Tempel 8, Bailey Keusch 6, Aces: Bailey Keusch 3,  Blocks: Myah Montgomery 4, Assists: Maddy Songer 8, Savanah Geoppner 4.  In JV action, Natalie Wahl led Southridge with 3 digs.


Jasper 5 – Heritage Hills 2

Forest Park 2 – Boonville 0

Jasper got off to a strong start and finished off the Patriots with a 5-2 win.  Brian Elizarraras had 2 goals while Jackson Kabrick, Khale Burger and Tony Menjivar added one goal apiece.

Forest Park traveled to Boonville on Thursday for a late game that ended with a 2-2 tie.  Both teams scored a pair of goals in the 2nd half as Conner Knies connected with JD Kerber twice to put the Rangers up 2-0.   The Pioneers tied the game late and forced the tie.


(Varsity) Southridge 4 – Crawford County 1

(Junior Varsity) Southridge 6 – Crawford County 0

Southridge picked up a nice win on Thursday over Crawford County in both the Varsity and JV contests.   Winners for the Raiders include: Austin Barkley (#1 singles), Owen Kinker (#2 singles), Max Rasche (#3 singles) and Konner Thyen/Levi Schaeffer (#2 doubles)

Heritage Hills 38 – Jasper 9

Notables for Jasper: Grant Young had 19 carries for 93 yards. Young also led the Cats with 5 tackles.  Charlie Kabrick had 12 carries for 74 yards with a 13 yard TD.  Victor Peter had 3 carries for 13 yards.  Mason Mauck had 1 fumble recovery.
