Rosemary F. Hildenbrand, 90, Holland

Rosemary F. Hildenbrand, 90, of Holland, died Saturday, September 7, at Brookside Village in Jasper. She was born in Dale December 5, 1928, to Frank and Margaret (Mendel) Schum. She married Albert W. Hildenbrand  April 8, 1947, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dale. He died in 1983.

Rosemary worked as a lab technician at Holland Dairy. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry Christian Mothers, and the Holland American Legion Post 343 Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting and gardening and was a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Huntingburg.

She is survived by two sons, Jim “Heavy” Hildenbrand and wife Lin, Huntingburg and Tim Hildenbrand and wife Sandra, Castroville, Texas; one sister, Jean Blue, Tell City; three brothers, Tom Schum and wife Sue, Ireland, Bill Schum and wife Faith, Ohio, and Don Schum, sisters-in-law Rae Ann Schum, Arizona, and Mary Ann Stetter, Jasper; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and Bob Schum.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday  at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A rosary prayer vigil, led by the St. Henry Christian Mothers, will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Henry Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Anthony Govind.
