Jasper Wildcats Win on the Grid Iron and Pitch while Raiders Defeat Rangers in Football

Dubois County:  The Jasper Wildcats football team were looking for their first win on the season as they traveled to Boonville to face a tough Pioneer team.   The soccer Wildcats pick up another win on the pitch as Jasper defeated Seymour at the Hoosier Cup that’s taking place in Bloomington.  Southridge looked to remain unbeaten in the young football season as the Rangers were looking for their 2nd win in a row.


Jasper 35 – Boonville 0

Southridge 42 – Forest Park 7

The Jasper Wildcats headed into their Friday night matchup with Boonville looking for their first win on the 2019 campaign.  The Pioneers have started off the season at 2-0 after crushing Washington and Vincennes Lincoln in their first two games.   Jasper came into the game and played like a team on a mission as they blanked the Pioneers 35-0.   The Cats took a 21-0 lead into halftime and never looked back as Jasper opens up Big 8 Conference play at 1-0.  Up next for Jasper is a Friday night matchup against Heritage Hills.   Jasper enters the game at 1-2 while Heritage Hills have outscored their opponents 147-12 and are 3-0 on the season.

At Southridge, the Raiders looked to remain unbeaten as they hosted Forest Park.   The Raiders rolled to a 28-0 halftime lead and built on that in the 2nd half on the running clock.   Southridge QB Chase Taylor was injured early in the game and left the contest.  Up next for Southridge (3-0) is North Posey while Forest Park (1-2) will face host Tecumseh on Friday night.
