Tuesday Sports Scores

Dubois County (NNDC):   Tuesday night in Dubois County means a full schedule of high school sports and last night was no different.  A rundown of last nights action is listed below.


Jasper 4 – Heritage Hills 1 — 20-25, 25-11, 25-10, 25-21

Princeton 4 – Southridge 1 — 23-25, 17-25, 25-16, 21-25

The Jasper Wildcats had a strong outing on Tuesday night as they defeated Heritage Hills in 4 sets.  Kayla Fuhs led the charge from the serving line with 8 aces while Meredith Hilgefort also picked up 4 aces for Jasper.  Caroline Kaiser, Reagan Egbert and Riley Merder all had 9 kills in the game while Allison Mair had 8 for the Wildcats.  Kate Green led the team with 35 assists. Defensively for the Cats, Jayden Pfister and Kayla Fuhs both picked up 11 digs on the night while Reagan Egbert had a solid night with 10.   Jasper returns to action on Saturday morning at 9:30 at the Scottsburg Invitational.

In the Junior Varsity game, Jasper took down the Patriots in 2 sets.  Grace Kizior led the team with 11 aces.   Kennedy Matheis led the Wildcats with 6 kills and 3 blocks.  Paige O’Neil dished out 9 assists.  Bailey Lents added 4 kills on the night.

At Southridge, the host Raiders lost to Princeton 4-1 in the varsity contest.  Rose Tempel and Tatiana Delgado each had 2 aces.  Delgado also had 14 digs while Anna Altstadt had 10.  Altstadt led the team in kills with 9, followed up by Myah Montgomery with 7, Rose Tempel and Bailey Keusch with 6.  Montgomery led Southridge with 3 blocks and the assist leaders were Savanah Goeppner who had 16 while Maddy Songer had 14.

In the Junior Varsity contest, it was Princeton defeating Southridge 2-0.  Karly Barnett had 3 aces and 5 digs while Caitlyn Frick added 5 assists for the Raiders.


(Boys) Heritage Hills 2 – Forest Park 1

(Girls) Forest Park 2 – Providence 2 (draw)

The Forest Park defense held tough against the Patriots but Heritage Hills was able to get 2 goals on the night enroute to the 2-1 victory.  Evan Tretter scored the Rangers first goal of the season in the 8th minute of the 2nd half with a volley from a corner kick taken by KD Kerber.

In girls soccer, Forest Park and Providence finished in a draw with both teams scoring twice.   Denai Sicard scored both goals for the Rangers.

The Southridge Raiders hosted Heritage Hills and South Spencer at the Huntingburg Country Club on Tuesday and the Raiders earn the win.   Emma Marley from Southridge was the medalist after shooting a 50.   The results for Southridge: Emma Marley (50), Meredith Heim (53), Sidney Layton (54), Ana Hewitt (58), Isabele Morrison (68), Brooklyn Cooper (69).

Forest Park travelled to the Country Club of Old Vincennes and came away with a 4 shot victory.   The results for Forest Park:  Maya Jones (50), Grace Wendholt (50), Ella Borden (55), Kelsie Jacob (60), Kaitlyn Seffernick (62), Grace Hass (65), Alexis Lasher (67)


Southridge 5 – Mount Vernon 0 (Varsity)

Southridge 6 – Mount Vernon 0 (Junior Varsity)

Jasper 5 – Boonville 0

Forest Park 4 – Crawford County 1

The Southridge Raiders dominated Mount Vernon on the tennis courts Tuesday as Southridge picked up a 5-0 win in varsity and the JV Raiders earned a 6-0 win.   Winners for Southridge varsity were: Austin Barkley (#1 singles), Owen Kinker (#2 singles), Max Rasche (#3 singles), Ethan Bell/Sam Sermersheim (#1 doubles) and Konner Thyen/Levi Schaeffer (#2 doubles)

Forest Park earned a 4-1 win over Crawford County as Nathan Jarboe, Landen Marks and Brandon Andry won in singles.

Cross Country

The Southridge Raiders Invitational took place on Tuesday night and several area athletes finished well.   A look at the results are listed below.

(Boys) Pike Central 125, Tecumseh 118, Southridge 84, Perry Central 53, Heritage Hills 40

(Girls) Tecumseh 111, Southridge 84, Perry Central 66, Heritage Hills 61, Pike Central 54

Top finishers for Southridge in boys include: Dylan Bland with a time of 17.53, Cameron Giles – 18.03, Jaffet Cruz – 19.36.  Bland and Giles finished 1st and 2nd respectively.

On the girls side at Southridge, Brooklyn Tretter led the Raiders with a time of 23.32, Evie Hasenour – 23.49, Kaelynn Luker – 25.05.
