Annetta M. Mehling, 88, Mariah Hill

Annetta M. Mehling, 88, of Mariah Hill, died Sunday, August 25, at Scenic Hills Care in Ferdinand. She was born in Jasper December 22, 1930, to John and Mary (Seger) Werner. She married Oscar Mehling October 23, 1948, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He died August 27, 2010.

Annetta was a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Church and its Ladies Sodality. She enjoyed playing cards, quilting, and being with her grandkids.

She is survived by five sons, Nick Mehling and wife Kaye and Bill Mehling and wife Laura, all of Mariah Hill, Tony Mehling and wife Jill, Santa Claus, Tim Mehling, Huntingburg, and Paul Mehling and wife Cecelia, Newburgh; seven daughters, Elaine Hopf and husband John, Jasper, Patty Blankenberger and husband Joe, Sharon Hasenour and husband Steve, and Yvonne Berg and husband Scott, all of Ferdinand, Linda Keck and husband Ernie, English, Marilyn May and husband Rod, Haubstadt, and Jean Ledbetter and husband Barry, Blufton, South Carolina.;  daughter in-law Karen Mehling, Evansville; 34 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Mark Mehling, one grandson, Gregory Mehling, three brothers, Roman, Joseph, and Walter Werner; and three sisters, Martina Thewes and Helen and Catherine Werner.

Friends may call from 1-7 p.m. Wednesday and from 7-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mary Help of Christians Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
