Victor Herman Pfaff, 83, Jasper

Victor Herman Pfaff, 83, of Jasper, died Wednesday, August 21, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Ireland May 27, 1936, to John and Marie (Striegel) Pfaff. He married Janet L. Wehr November 13, 1959. She died October 19, 2016.

Victor was a graduate of Ireland High School and a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Germany.Victor Pfaff retired from the City of Jasper where he was superintendent of the city’s electric municipal utilities department for many years. He was a member of Redemption Christian Church in Jasper and VFW Post 673 in Jasper. He was a beekeeper, a horseshoe pitcher, and an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball and Indiana University basketball fan.

He is survived by four sons, Brian Pfaff and wife Angie, Jasper, Ryan Pfaff and wife Shirley, Tell City, Mark Pfaff and wife Tami, Otwell, and Mike Pfaff and wife Laura, Herndon, Virginia; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Richard Pfaff and wife Donna, Plainfield, and Ronnie Pfaff and wife Kim, Jasper.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dolores Curry and Marge Hinkely, one brother, Louis Pfaff, and one grandson, Daniel Pfaff.

Friends may call from 8-11 a.m. Saturday at Redemption Christian Church. Memorial contributions can be made to Redemption Church or to the Danial Pfaff endowment fund. Burial to follow at a later date.
