Mary Louise Ohanian, 94, Ireland

Mary Louise Ohanian, 94, of Ireland, died Wednesday, August 21, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Webster County, Kentucky, July 3, 1925, to Thomas Cosby and Lilly Francis (Hawkins) Overby. She married Rev. Samuel Ohanian November 19, 1946, at the Methodist Temple in Chicago. He died October 16, 1993.

Mary worked as an instructional assistant and bus driver for the Dubois-Spencer-Perry Cooperative. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Jasper and the Gentryville Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Lou Higginbotham and husband Darrell, Noblesville, and Lucinda Schmitt and husband Greg, Ireland; two sons, Philip Stroud Ohanian and wife Debra, Huntingburg, and Harry Eugene Ohanian and wife Kathy, Marble Falls, Texas; one brother, Thomas Sherril Overby and wife Dottie, Waukegan, Illinois;  11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, William Charlie, Frankie B., Eugene Howard, and Jimmy Cornelius Overby.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m.Sunday and from 9-10 a.m. Monday at Shiloh United Methodist Church. Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions can be sent to Shiloh Church for mission programs. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday at the church with burial following in Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg. Pastor Dan Sinkhorn will officiate at the service.
