Carolyn J. Friedman, 78, Dubois

Carolyn J. Friedman, 78, of Dubois, died Thursday, August 1, at the Timbers of Jasper. She was born in Otwell March 15, 1941, to Aaron Lee and Marie (Grubb) Dedrick. She married Harry Friedman April 29, 1961, at the Otwell United Methodist Church. He died January 19, 1984

Carolyn was a self-employed poultry farmer. She was a graduate of Otwell High School and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads where she volunteered as a secretary and a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by one son, Dean Friedman, Dubois; her companion, Ed Jones, French Lick; two sisters, Judy Patterson, Jasper, and Sharon Kovacs, Bedford; and two brothers, Eldon Dedrick (Nick) and Frankie Dedrick and wife Peggy, all of Jasper.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Darlene Sue Friedman, one son, Darrell Lee Friedman, one sister, Mary Lou Polen, and three brothers, Richard, Bill, and Glen Dedrick.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Monday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Church.
