Anna Marie Welp, 92, Huntingburg

Anna Marie Welp, 92, of Huntingburg, died Monday, July 29, 2019, at The Waters of Huntingburg. She was born August 25, 1926, in Ferdinand, to Peter and Rosa (Dall) Fleck and married Aloysius J. Welp on April 23, 1949, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

She was a loyal wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality, the funeral lunch committee and quilting committee. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, bowling and raising African Violets. Anna volunteered at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital and area nursing homes.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died August 25, 2011; her parents; three sisters, Irene Mehringer, Marcella “Sally” Mundy, and Lucille Weyer; and four brothers, Gilbert Fleck, Robert Fleck, Anthony Fleck, and Oscar Fleck. She is survived by four children, Gene Welp and wife, Barbara, of Ferdinand, Ron Welp of Evansville, Diane Buschkoetter and husband, Rod, of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, and Kevin Welp of Phoenix, Arizona; one sister, Edna Fark of Brownsburg, Ind.; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2 – 7 p.m. on Sunday. A parish rosary prayer vigil will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home, lead by Deacon Tom Holsworth. Funeral services for will be held at 10 a.m.on Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand.
