Huntingburg (NNDC):   The Dubois County Bombers have advanced to the OVL Championship series with a sweep of Henderson in the Eastern Division finals.   The Bombers advance following their 12-3 win over the Flash.    Dubois County will face Hoptown who defeated Paducah for the Western Division title.

The Bombers finished in 3rd place during the regular season but have been playing their best baseball during the post season.   Dubois County defeated Owensboro in the semi-final round 2 games to none last week and with Tuesdays victory over the Flash, the Bombers move into the finals.

Henderson jumped out on top 1-0 after the first inning but Dubois County struck for 4 runs in the bottom of the 2nd and never looked back.   Tyler Van Pelt, Tucker Schank, Zuriel Collins and Easton Stewart scored in the inning.   Van Pelt and Schank had reached on an error while Stewart doubled to left and Collins walked.

The Flash bounced back in the top of the 3rd as Charlie Mooneyham and Robert Sproul crossed the plate pulling Henderson within 1 run.   The Bombers added 3 more in the 4th to go up 7-3.  Benji Brokemond, Chase Hug and Tyler Best scored in the inning.  Dubois County added a couple of insurance runs in the 6th as Chase Hug hit a two run shot over the right/center field fence which also scored Brokemond who had reached on a walk.

The Bombers put the game away in the bottom of the 8th as Chase Hug and Matt Joslin earned walks and came around to score when Bryson McNay hit a 2 RBI triple to center field.   McNay also scored in the inning on a Tucker Schank single.   Dubois County had a 12-3 lead heading into the 9th.   The Bombers held Henderson scoreless in the 9th and earn the victory.

The Bombers had 8 hits in the game, including a homerun by Hug, a triple by McNay and a double by Stewart.   Alex Franklin earned the win on the mound for Dubois County.   He had 4 strikeouts, 3 walks and allowed 1 hit in 3 innings of work.  Reece Kleinhelter started the game for the Bombers.  He went 4 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, striking out 4 and walking 1.   The Henderson Flash had 8 errors in the loss.

With the win, Dubois County advances to the OVL Championship series and will face the Hoptown Hoppers who won the Western Division playoffs.
