Bombers Blast Railroaders, Tyler Best with 3 Home Runs, Host Family Appreciation Night on Sunday

Fulton (NNDC):  Tyler Best went deep 3 times and the Dubois County Bombers blasted Fulton 13-5 on Friday night.

Dubois County jumped out on top 3-1 after the first inning.  In the Bomber half of the first, Chase Hug reached on a double and Matt Ellis was walked.  Tyler Best stepped up to the plate and sent a 3 run shot over the right/center field fence giving the Bombers a 3-0 lead.   Fulton pulled within 2 in the bottom half of the inning.   The Railroaders took the lead in the bottom of the second as they plated 3 of their own.  Garrett Guyman hit a home run for Fulton to open up the bottom half of the 2nd.  Sam Gallimore and Nathan Bynum also reached base in the inning and came around to score giving the Railroaders a 4-3 lead.

Dubois County took control of the game as 3 Bombers crossed the plate in the top half of the 3rd inning.  Matt Joslin opened up the 3rd with a solo shot to right/center tying up the game.   Matt Ellis and Best reached base on walks and both would come around to score giving Dubois County a 6-4 lead.   The Bombers never looked back as they added 2 more in the 4th, 1 in the 7th and solidified the win by adding 4 more runs in the top of the 9th.   Best had home runs in the 1st, 4th and 9th innings.

Samuel Steimel earned the victory for the Bombers.  He allowed seven hits and four runs over three innings, striking out two.   Dubois County had 15 hits in the game including multiple hits by Best, Marcus Hill, Easton Stewart, Tyler Van Pelt and Bryson McNay.   Best went 3 for 4 at the plate to lead the Bombers.

With the win, Dubois County improves to 20-17 on the season and are in 3rd place,  3 games behind the East Division leaders Owensboro RiverDawgs.   Up next for Dubois County is a matchup against the RiverDawgs on Sunday night at League Stadium.   Game time has been pushed back to 7pm due to the extreme heat.   It will also be Host Family Appreciation Night at the ballpark.
