Jasper Reds Improve to 11-0 on the Season, will Host the Owensboro Velvet Bombers on Wednesday at Ruxer Field

Jasper (NNDC):  The Jasper Reds undefeated season continued on Sunday as they picked up a pair of wins over the visiting Avon A’s.   In game 1, Jasper picked up a 10-0 win in 5 innings as Bo Daves picked up his 3rd win of the season after striking out 5, walking 2 and allowing only 2 hits in the game.   The Reds got on the board in the 1st inning as Austin Simmers would come around to score after picking up a double earlier in the inning.   Jasper put the game away in the 2nd as they plated 7 runs to take an 8-0 lead.   The Reds would add two more and hold Avon scoreless, giving Jasper the 10-0, five inning win.   Simmers went 3-4 at the plate with 2 doubles and 1 single.  Drew Cusick had a triple and a single while Trevor Zink and Josh Weidenbenner added a pair of singles in the win.

In game 2, Jasper allowed one run to Avon and win their 2nd game of the day with a 14-1 victory.   The Reds exploded for 8 runs in the second inning to put the game out of reach.  Simmers had a double and 2 singles, Zink had a pair of hits with triple and a single while Reece Bauer doubled and singled.    Weidenbenner also had a 2 singles in the game.    Kris Weisheit earned the win on the mound for Jasper and improved his record to 2-0.  With the win, Jasper improves to 11-0 on the season and have now won 32 consecutive regular season games.

Up next for Jasper is a Wednesday night matchup at Ruxer Field as the Reds will host the Owensboro Velvet Bombers.  First pitch is set for 7:15pm.   Jasper will also play another double header this upcoming Sunday as they welcome Shelbyville, KY to Ruxer.   Game time is set for 1:30pm.

Jasper will open up play at the NBC World Series in Wichita on Saturday July 27th and will find out their opponent on the 21st.
