Mid-States Corridor Regional Development Authority Announces Initiation of Tier 1 Study on Mid-States Corridor Project

Mark A Schroeder, Chairman, Mid-States Corridor Regional Development Authority along with both Mayors of Jasper and Huntingburg along with repersentatives from  Jasper City and Dubois County Council, State Senator Mark Messmer, and Terry Seitz from US Senator Mike Braun’s office and Hank Menke who really got this idea started 8 years ago annouced today the start of the study on the Mid-States Corridor.

 

Today is an important milestone in the journey for the improved north-south highway connection throughout this region.  The start of the study marks the final step of the initial vision portion of the journey and the first step  on the next leg of that journey.  The RDA’s funding for this study is a public/private partnership, with 50% of the study funded by local goverment and 50% funded by local business.

The Louchmiller Group of Evansville, Indiana has been contracted to conduct the Study, which is expected to take just over 2 years to complete with a Record of Decision (ROD) expected in the summer of 2021.

The Mid-States Corridor Regional Development Authority initative  originated as a locally sponsored and funded infastructure project, which was made possible by recent legislation sponsored by Indiana Senator Mark Messmer and US  Senator Mike Braun.  This legislation, commonly known as Indiana Senate Enrolled act 128, was enacted as of July 1, 2017.
