Bombers Fall on the Road at Muhlenberg County

Muhlenberg County (NNDC):   The Dubois County Bombers visited Muhlenberg County on Monday night and leave on the short end of the score as they fall 5-2.

Muhlenberg County struck first in the bottom half of the first inning when Jake Edwards came around to score after reaching base earlier in the inning with a single up the middle.   Dubois County bounced back in the top of the 2nd when Bryson McNay reached base on a single to center with one out.   McNay stole 2nd base and advanced to 3rd on a flyout to right field from Easton Stewart.   McNay would score when AJ Arnold reached on an error and the game was tied at 1 run apiece.

Dubois County took the lead in the 3rd inning when Evan Kahre doubled to right/center with one out.   Kahre crossed the plate when Chase Hug sent a double to left/center which gave the Bombers a 2-1 lead.   The Stallions would tie the game in the bottom of the 4th inning as Luke Kuester came around to score after being walked earlier in the inning.  Muhlenberg County took the lead in the 5th as Cal Johnston reached base on a one out walk.   Johnston would come around to score giving the Stallions a 3-2 lead and they would never look back.  Muhlenberg County would score additional runs in the 6th and 8th innings while holding the Bombers scoreless for the remainder of the game giving the Stallions a 5-2 win.

Tim Rogers took the loss for Dubois County.   He allowed 2 runs on 1 hit and had 4 strikeouts in 2 innings.

The Bombers will take a couple of days off and travel to Henderson on Thursday night to face the Flash.  Dubois County returns home for a weekend homestand as they host Franklin on Friday night, Owensboro on Saturday and Hoptown on Sunday.   Game time for the Friday and Saturday night games is 7pm while the Sunday contest with Hoptown starts at 6pm.   Additional entertainment set for the homestand includes performances by The Hagedorn Family Band on Friday night, a 125th anniversary celebration for League Stadium on Saturday which includes a game between the Peaches and the Belles.  On Sunday, it’s Winner Winner Chicken Dinner Night at the ballpark.
