Verna Lee Moeller, 89, Jasper

Verna Lee Moeller, 89, of Jasper, died Sunday, July 7, at her home. She was born in Huntingburg June 17, 1930, to Fred and Bertha (Mehling) Freson. She married Kenneth Moeller October 31, 1952, in Jacksonville, Florida. He died November 4, 2001.

Verna was a 1948 graduate of Huntingburg High School. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana State Teachers College. She was a teacher at Jasper High School and a secretary for Jasper Municipal Utilities for over 25 years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper and its Holy Family Ladies Sodality. She enjoyed reading, classical music, flower gardening, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Andrea Ackerman and husband Brian, Jasper; two sons, Michael Moeller and wife Linda, Indianapolis, and David  Moeller and wife Sheri, New Palestine; six grandchildren;  two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Bohnert.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Church. Memorial contributions can be made to Holy Family Church or to a favorite charity. A Mass of Christian Burial  will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with internment following in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper.
