Fireworks will be in the Air, Public stay Cautious

The fourth of July and adjoining days means fireworks will be in the air and residents should remain cautious and supervise children closely.

The Dubois County Tourism announced that they are once again the major sponsor of this year’s Thunder Over Patoka fireworks show.

On Saturday, July 6, many if not thousands of people will be heading to Patoka Lake to watch the huge the annual fireworks show.

Fireworks will start around dark.  If attending with family and friends, bring lawn chairs, blankets, refreshments, and bug spray. It is not necessary to go to the beach area as the campgrounds and other local areas have great views as well.

As to other fireworks, residents should be cautious and abide by local regulations and keep a keen eye on children for everyone’s safety.
