Dubois County Downs Hoptown on Saturday Night

Huntingburg (NNDC):   The Dubois County Bombers were led by Britton Graham on Saturday night at League Stadium to pick up an 8-5 win over the visiting Hoptown Hoppers.   Fueled by a 4 for 4 night at the plate for Graham, the Bombers overcame a 3-0 first inning deficit.  Graham had singles in the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 7th inning.

The Bombers got on the board in the bottom of the 2nd inning.  Tyler Best reached on a walk and would come around to score later in the inning on a single by Graham.   Dubois County pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning.    In the fourth, Marcus Hill singled scoring Austin Duffy who had reached on an error.  Graham and Hill would also come around to score on a triple by Evan Kahre.   Zuriel Collins sac fly to left allowed Kahre to score giving the Bombers a 5-1 lead.   The Bombers would plate 3 more in the bottom of the 7th inning as Best,  Duffy and Tyler Van Pelt would all reach base by earning walks.  Those walks would prove costly for the Hoppers as all 3 would come around to score.   Hoptown did pick up two runs in the top of the 8th inning but it wasn’t enough as Dubois County picked up the 8-5 win.

Chase Rudy earned the victory on the mound for the Bombers.  He allowed 2 hits and 2 runs over three and a third innings, striking out 4.

The Bombers return to action on Sunday night as they travel to Paducah.   After visiting Henderson and Muhlenberg County on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dubois County returns home for a double header against Muhlenberg County on Thursday night.   It will be Hawaiian Night and Thirsty Thursday at the ballpark.  Game time is set for 5pm.
