New Summer Concert Series Taking Place at Market Street Park in Huntingburg

The City of Huntingburg, along with the IU Center for Rural Engagement and Destination Huntingburg, is hosting a new summer concert series that will be held at Market Street Park. “4th Fridays” will take place on Fridays, June 28, July 26 and August 23, 2019 from 5:00 – 11:00 p.m. The event is free and will include live music, food trucks, a cash bar provided by The Gaslight, and games and activities for kids.

“As the development of Market Street Park was taking place, our steering committee envisioned this type of event, one that provides an opportunity for those of all ages to gather and celebrate,” says Huntingburg Mayor Denny Spinner. “Through our partnership with the IU Center for Rural Engagement and Destination Huntingburg, this vision has become a reality. We feel that 4th Fridays will add to the vibrancy of our downtown, and continue to make it a destination for years to come.”

The first event on June 28 will feature two music groups from Indiana University, p.m.), and will include a local favorite,  The order of the bands is Side Hustle (5:00 – 6:00 p.m.), Secret Mezzanine (6:30-8:00 p.m.), and Calabash (8:30 – 11:00 p.m.).as the headliner. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs for seating.

“We are thrilled to be involved with 4th Fridays, as part of our mission is to develop and enrich an inviting atmosphere in our downtown, and we feel this concert series does just that,” says Destination Huntingburg Executive Director Sarah Flamion. “We encourage those who attend the event to also take time to visit the local businesses and restaurants on and around 4th Street, as well.”
