Charles Michael “Mike” LaDuke, 77, Celestine

Charles Michael “Mike” LaDuke, 77, of Celestine, died Saturday, June 15, at his home. He was born in Waukegan, Illinois, June 2, 1942, to Charles Eugene and Lula (Chase) LaDuke. He married Frances M. Frisbie February 9, 1963, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Waukegan.

Mike was a retired semi-truck driver for Lodesky Trucking in Gurnee, Illinois. He attended Fairview Baptist Church in Taswell, was an avid fisherman and aircraft aviator, enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Frances M. LaDuke, Celestine; one daughter, Sharon LaDuke; two sons, Michael Charles LaDuke and wife Janine, Capron, Illinois, and David LaDuke, Bristol, Wisconsin; one brother, Robert LaDuke, Tucson, Arizona; one sister, Pat Smeltzer, Grreen Valley, Arizona; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way.

In additions to his parents he was preceded in death by three daughters, Betty Davis, Isabelle Van Hassel, and Mary Lou Ford, and one brother, James LaDuke.

Friends may call from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday (June 18) at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Burial will take place at the Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Northshore Garden of Memories Chapel with visitation prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. Nass and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
