Jasper Reds Remain Undefeated, Will Host Owensboro this Upcoming Sunday at Ruxer Field

Jasper (NNDC):  The Jasper Reds (3-0) picked up a huge win on Saturday at Ruxer Field as they hosted the Nashville Cubs.   The Cubs came to town with an impressive 9-0 record and looking to remain undefeated.   The Reds entered the contest at 2-0 and also looking to keep their record unblemished.

Trailing 2-0 heading into the bottom of the 5th inning, Jasper went to work and started chipping away at the Cubs lead.   Eli Knust, Ben Lambert and Bricen Russell led the charge in the comeback as Lambert went deep in the 5th and Russell had 3 hits including a solo shot in the 7th inning.    Knust also had 3 hits in the game including 2 doubles and a single.  His second double drove in the go ahead run for the Reds.

Jasper picks up a 4-3 win over previously undefeated Nashville and sends the Cubs home with their first loss of the season.   Veteran righthander Bo Daves picked up the win on the hill for the Reds.   Daves allowed 7 hits, had 5 strikeouts, walked 2 (1 intentionally) and hit one batter. With the win, the Jasper Reds are now 3-0 on the season and will host the Owensboro Hardballers in a double header on Sunday at 2:30pm.
