Bombers Drop Game to Duelers on the Road, Return to League Stadium for 4 Game Homestand this Weekend

Dubois County NNDC:  The Dubois County Bombers dropped their first ever meeting with the Franklin Duelers on the road Wednesday night by the score of 6-4.   The Bombers led 4-0 following a 4 run 4th inning.   The big inning for Dubois County started with a leadoff double to centerfield by Chase Hug.   Matt Ellis singled which scored Hug from 2nd base.  Austin Duffy reached base on a walk.  Evan Kahre reached base on an error loading up the bases.   Ellis, Duffy and Kahre would eventually come around and score in the same inning giving Dubois County the 4 run lead.

Trailing 4-0 in the bottom of the 7th inning, Franklin went to work and plated 2.   Still trailing in the bottom of the 8th, the Duelers added 4 more runs to take a 6-4  lead and would hold on to defeat the Bombers.   Patrick Queener took the loss for Dubois County.  He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing 4 runs on 2 hits and striking out two.   Dubois County had 8 hits in the contest including doubles by Chase Hug and Zuriel Collins.

Dubois County is now 2-5 on the season and return to the friendly confines of League Stadium for a 4 game weekend homestand.   It’s thirsty Thursday as Henderson visits the Bombers.  The last time these two teams met, Henderson outlasted Dubois County as the Flash won 20-16.  Owensboro will visit League Stadium on Friday, Paducah stops in on Saturday for Brews in the Bullpen night and the Fathers Day matchup will be with the Madisonville Miners.
