Southridge Raiders Win Class 2A Semi-State, Heading back to Victory Field Tuesday (June 18th) for State Championship Game

Jasper (NNDC):  In a game seen live on NNDC, the Southridge Raiders dominated South Vermillion in the Class 2A Semi-State on Saturday at Ruxer Field.   The Raiders pick up a convincing 7-0 win to advance to the State Championship game at Victory Field.   Southridge will face Alexandria Monroe on Tuesday (June 18th) at 8:30pm Eastern.

Ethan Bell shut down the South Vermillion offense as he only allowed 1 hit and had 7 strikeouts in the complete game shutout to pick up the win on the mound for the Raiders.   Southridge got on the board in the 3rd inning when Chase Taylor sent a bloop single into right field which scored Tucker Schank and Camden Gasser giving the Raiders a 2-0 lead.  Later in the inning Colson Montgomery who reached base earlier in the inning with a walk, crossed home plate when a balk was called against the Wildcats pitcher.

Southridge would strike again in the 6th inning and put the game away as the Raiders would plate 4.   Chase Taylor picked up another RBI as he singled scoring Schank.  Ethan Bell helped his own cause with a  2 RBI double and Joe Lagrange also picked up an RBI which gave the Raiders a 7-0 lead.   Bell would shut down South Vermillion in the 7th giving Southridge back to back Semi-State titles.

The Raiders advance to the State Championship game at Victory Field and will face Alexandria Monroe on Tuesday (June 18th) at 8:30pm Eastern.
