Southridge Raiders to Play South Vermillion in Baseball Semi-State

Huntingburg (NNDC):  The Southridge Raiders have now won back to back Regional titles and will return to the Semi-State this upcoming weekend.   On Saturday at League Stadium, Southridge got past Austin in the early game 6-0.  The Raiders had 9 hits in the game to propel them into the Regional Championship game against North Posey.  The Vikings defeated Lanesville earlier in the day for their ticket to the Regional title game.

With a trip to the Class 2A semi-state on the line, the Raiders and Vikings battled it out at League Stadium with North Posey taking an early 1-0 lead in the first inning before Southridge got on the board in the 2nd as two runs crossed the plate.   The Raiders would add another run in the 5th and two insurance runs in the 7th on their way to a 5-1 victory and clinching their 2nd Regional title in as many years.   Ethan Bell went the distance for Southridge and allowed 7 hits.

With the win, Southridge will play in the Semi-State against South Vermillion who defeated Indianapolis Scecina 5-4 in the Park Tudor Regional.   The IHSAA will make a decision early in the week as to whether the Semi-State will be played at Jasper or Mooresville.   NNDC will update once the IHSAA releases that information.
