IHSAA Softball Regional Results

Dubois County (NNDC):  The IHSAA Softball Regionals took place on Tuesday night with Jasper, Southridge and Northeast Dubois vying for a Regional Title and a trip to the Semi-State.  In Class 3A at Heritage Hills, the Jasper Wildcats and Patriots went head to head while Southridge traveled to Lynnville to face Tecumseh in Class 2A.   The Northeast Dubois Jeeps hosted the Loogootee Lions in a Class 1A match up.

Jasper punched their ticket to the Regional as they doubled up Pike Central 6-3 in the Sectional Championship game.   Southridge entered the Regional with a 17-7 record following their 5-4 extra inning win over Linton on Thursday night in the title game.   Northeast Dubois won their first softball sectional since 2006 when they defeated Wood Memorial 8-6 to earn their spot in the Regional Championship game.




Softball (IHSAA Regional Championship)

Class 3A @ Heritage Hills — Heritage Hills 1 – Jasper 0 (LP: Mia Werner) Kennedy Matheis had a single and Rachel Gress tripled which accounted for Jaspers 2 hits.

Class 2A @ Tecumseh — Tecumseh 5 – Southridge 2 (LP: Lydia Genet) Briley King had 2 RBI’s on a single in the 6th inning which gave the Raiders a 2-1 lead.  Tecumseh plated 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to take a 5-2 lead and would hold on to win the Regional title.

Class 1A @ Loogootee — Loogootee 7 – Northeast Dubois 2 (LP: Camryn Stemle)  Loogootee launched 4 home runs.  Alexus Royer went 3 for 3 at the plate for the Jeeps.   Northeast Dubois earned trip to Regional Championship game with their first Sectional title in 13 years.
