Herschel David Kamman, 85, Huntingburg

Herschel David Kamman, 85, of Huntingburg, died Tuesday, May 21, at his home. He was born in Huntingburg August 10, 1933, to Gilbert and Augusta “Gussie” (Oxley) Kamman.

Herschel was a lifelong Indiana University and St. Louis Cardinal fan. He served in the U.S. Army infantry division from 1951 to 1953. He retired from the Holland Dairy where he was employed for 52 years. He served 28 years as a Cass Township trustee.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sharon (Simpson) Kamman; two sons, Rex Kamman and wife Kim and John Kamman, all of Huntingburg; eight grandchildren, Dena Rasche and husband Eddie, Leah Kunz and husband Matt, Sara Durcholz and husband Nathan, Cameron Kamman, Keshia Matthews and husband Brock, and Katie, Andi, and Benjamin Flamion; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Harold “Butch” Kamman.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Zoar United Methodist Church in Zoar. Memorial contributions can be made to Zoar UMC. Online condolences can be shared at www.nassandson.com. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church followed by burial in Zoar Cemetery. Pastor Keith Chanley will officiate at the service. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Holland American Legion Memorial Detail.
