Terry Gobert Picks Up Career Win Number 800

Dubois County (NNDC):   Area high school athletic programs took advantage of the rare nice, dry spring weather on Monday night as Jasper, Southridge, Northeast Dubois and Forest Park all had teams in action.   It was a huge night at Ruxer Field as head coach Terry Gobert picked up his 800th career victory as the Wildcats picked up a 10-0 win over Gibson Southern in 5 innings.   Gobert is only the 5th coach ever to hit the 800 mark in Indiana high school baseball.   With the win, Jasper is now 16-3 on the season.   Grant Stratton picked up the win on the mound for the Wildcats.   In other baseball action, Northeast Dubois ran into a buzz saw as they fall to the Tecumseh Braves 18-1 in 5 innings.   The Jeeps are now 2-14 on the season.   Forest Park had no trouble in handling Loogootee as the Rangers pick up a 10-1 win.   Drew Howard earned the victory for Forest Park.

In High School Softball,  the Jasper Wildcats ran into a very tough Gibson Southern squad and fall 9-1.   The Titans put the game away early as they had 5 runners cross the plate in the 2nd inning and held Jasper to 1 run in the 3rd before shutting them out for the remainder of the game.  Mia Werner took the loss on the mound for Jasper.   The Forest Park Rangers improve their record to 9-6 as they picked up a 3-0 win over Springs Valley.   Kennedy Sermersheim had a 2 run shot in the 7th while Allyson Werner had 6 strikeouts and picked up the win on the mound for the Rangers.   Northeast Dubois also recorded a win on the softball field on Monday night as they pick up a 3-2 win over the Linton Miners.   Camryn Stemle earned the win for Northeast Dubois.
