Tough Night for the Wildcats and Raiders on the Baseball Diamond, Rangers Fall in Softball

Dubois County (NNDC):  As the wet spring weather continues, the postponements and cancellations are continuing to add up and Saturday doesn’t look promising for the area sports teams.   Friday evening proved to be a rough night for Jasper and Southridge on the baseball field as the Cats fall to Edgewood in the first round of the Hall of Fame classic in Jasper.  The Class 4A #5 Wildcats lost 4-1 to the Class 3A #5 Mustangs.  With the loss, Jasper is now 15-3 on the season.   The Southridge Raiders traveled to Tecumseh to finish up a rain shortened game from earlier this season.    This conference matchup went in the favor of Tecumseh as the Braves pick up the 7-6 win.

In high school softball, the Forest Park Rangers were also on the road at Tecumseh for a conference matchup.  Kennedy Sermersheim and Macie Zink both had home runs for the Rangers but the Braves would go on to win 11-5.   With the loss, the Rangers fall to 11-6 on the season.
