Tuesday Sports Scores

Dubois County (NNDC):   A full slate of high school sports took place on Tuesday night as the spring sports season starts to wind down.   A county matchup on the baseball diamond as the Jasper Wildcats hosted the Forest Park Rangers.   Forest Park jumped out to a 2 run lead in the 2nd inning before Jasper took control in the 3rd inning as five runs crossed the plate.   The Cats added 4 runs in the 5th and 2 more in the 6th enroute to an 11-2 win.   With the win, Jasper is 15-2 on the season and Forest Park drops to 7-7.

On the softball diamond, Jasper picked up a big 8 conference win over Mount Carmel.  Grace Colvin had 5 RBI’s in Jaspers 14-4 win over the Lady Aces.   Jasper had 17 hits in the game and Mia Werner added to her win total on the mound for the Wildcats.   The Forest Park Rangers traveled to Tell City on Tuesday to face the Marksman in a PAC Conference match up.  In a hard fought contest that saw Forest Park trailing 3-2 after 4 innings,  the Rangers would score a run in the 5th, 6th and 7th inning while holding Tell City to only one more additional run.   The end result was a 5-4 conference win for Forest Park.   Ali Welp went 2 for 3 at the plate with a triple, single and an RBI in the win.   Allyson Werner picked up the “W” on the mound for the Rangers.
