Forest Park Throws No Hitter against the Jeeps, Jasper loses 1st Game of Baseball Season

Dubois County (NNDC):  A very active night for Dubois County sports teams on Thursday as the Jasper Wildcats Baseball team looked to remain unbeaten as they travelled to Newburgh to face Castle.   The Knights jumped out to an early lead and went on to give Jasper it’s first loss of the 2019 campaign by the score of 9-3.   Isaac Bartley picked up the loss on the mound for Jasper. At Forest Park, the Rangers welcomed county rival Northeast Dubois to town.   The Jeeps struggled offensively and was only able to get one runner on base enroute to a 15-0 loss.   Forest Parks Gavin Knust didn’t allow a hit in his complete game victory.  At Huntingburg League Stadium, the Southridge Raiders picked up another win behind Weston Allen as the Raiders defeated the Princeton Tigers 11-1.

Area Softball  and Tennis teams were also in action and a rundown of those scores are listed below.

Forest Park 15 – Northeast Dubois 0 (Gavin Knust pitches no-hitter for the Rangers)

Southridge 11 – Princeton 1 (winning pitcher Weston Allen)



Southridge 19 – Washington 4 (winning pitcher Myah Montgomery)

Gibson Southern 11 – Forest Park 4 (losing pitcher Allyson Werner)

Northeast Dubois 5 – Tell City 3 (winning pitcher Camryn Stemle)



South Spencer 3 – Southridge 2 (winners for Southridge were Evie Sherer in #1 singles and Jordan Biehl/Gabbie Werner in #2 doubles)

Northeast Dubois 4 – South Knox 1 (winners for Northeast Dubois were Chloe Terwiske in #1 singles, Courtney Vittitow in #3 singles and the doubles teams of Delaney Rasche/Olivia Schroering and Paige Knies/Alexis Stafford)

Forest Park 3 – Heritage Hills 2 (winners for Forest Park were Brooke Haug in #1 singles, Haley Marks in #2 singles and the #1 doubles team of Molly Lusk/Kaylee Uebelhor)
