County Rivals Face Off on the Diamond

Dubois County (NNDC):  County rivals faced off on the baseball and softball diamonds on Tuesday night.   On the hill in Dubois, the Northeast Dubois Jeeps hosted the Southridge Raiders in baseball and in softball the Jasper Wildcats hosted Southridge.    In a game that saw a ton of offense the Jeeps and Raiders combined for 25 runs on 27 hits, including 6 home runs.   Southridge did pick up the road win 16-9 with Logan Seger earning the victory for the Raiders.  On the softball diamond, the Southridge Raiders entered their contest with Jasper at 3-0 on the season and looking to remain undefeated while the Wildcats were looking to improve to 5-3.   Jasper jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after one inning while Southridge tacked on a run in the top of the 2nd, but the Wildcats added two more runs in the bottom of the inning and put the game away in the third inning after plating 4 runs, giving them an 8-1 edge.  Jasper would go on to win the matchup 9-4.  With the loss, Lydia Genet picked up her first loss of the season for Southridge while Mia Werner earned the victory for Jasper.  Several other area teams were in action and those scores are listed below.
