Spring Sports Heating Up

Dubois County (NNDC):  The spring sports season is heating up as several county rival games took place on Thursday night.   In High School Softball, the Southridge Raiders faced Forest Park while Jasper and Northeast Dubois went head to head.   In  Baseball, Southridge was at home to face Castle and Forest Park hosted Martha Lane Collins high school from Kentucky.   The area high school golf and track teams were also in action.

At Huntingburg League Stadium, the Southridge Raiders early season struggles continue as they lost to the Castle Knights 11-4.  Logan Seger picked up the loss for the Raiders (0-2).   In Ferdinand, the Forest Park Rangers pick up the win over the Titans of Martha Lane Collins high school.   The Rangers had the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th inning when Reece Verkamp earned a walk which allowed a run to score.   Forest Park picked up a 5-4 win.

In high school Softball, the Southridge Raiders hot start continues as they improve to 4-0 on the season with a 9-1 victory over Forest Park.  Lydia Genet improved to 3-0 on the mound for the Raiders while striking out 5.   Allyson Werner drops to 1-2 on the season with the Rangers loss.  Werner struck out 3 in the contest.   At Jasper, the Wildcats earned a 7-6 win over Northeast Dubois after plating 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning on a walk off home run by Grace Colvin.   With the win, Colvin also picked up the win on the mound as she struck out 5 in the game.  Hadley Fuhrman picked up the loss for the Jeeps.
