Spring Sports in Full Swing

Dubois County (NNDC):  The 2019 High School Spring sports season is in full swing for Dubois County teams.   In Softball, the Southridge Raiders and Northeast Dubois Jeeps were in action on the road and in Tennis, Southridge hosted Evansville Christian.   At Southridge, the Tennis team opened up the season with a commanding 5-0 win over the Eagles.  In Singles action, Olivia Durcholz, Kelby LaRoche and Evie Sherer won in straight sets and in Doubles, teams comprised of Anna Kappner/Gabbie Werner and Camille Fleming/Audra Hochgesang picked up straight set victories.

In High School Softball, the Southridge Raiders early season success continues as they shutout Crawford County 15-0.  Southridge plated 9 runs in the first to put the game out of reach and rolled to the 5 inning win.  Kennedy Nalley had 2 triples  and 4 RBI’s on the night.  Myah Montgomery and Briley King combined for the 1 hit shutout.

The Northeast Dubois Jeeps were also victorious on Monday night as they held on for a 6-5 win over Paoli.   The Jeeps jumped out to a 4-1 lead before the Rams tied the game in the bottom of the 5th inning.   Northeast Dubois added two more in the 6th inning and picked up their first win on the young season.   Brinley Royer went 3 for 3 at the plate including two doubles for the Jeeps.
