Joyce D. Colman, 86, Dubois

Joyce D. Colman, 86, of Dubois, died Sunday, March 31, at her home. She was born in Graves County, Kentucky, January 12, 1933, to William Moses and Ruell (Bruce) Foy. She married Richard S. Colman July 16, 1960, in Chicago. He died June 6, 2015.

Joyce worked at Northeast Dubois High School as a custodian for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jasper and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, watching soap operas and game shows, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Wood and husband Bob, Jasper, and Wonda Colman and fiancé Marc Fasnacht, Huntingburg; one son, Richard Keith Colman, Dubois; two grandsons, Robert Wood, Jasper, and Justin Wood and wife Jennifer, Boonville; four great-grandchildren, Austin Wood, Dubois, and Serenity, Lance, and Tessa Wood, all of Jasper; three sisters, Gladys (Bobby) Sadler and husband Bobby and Sue Dowdy and husband Bill, all of Mayfield, Kentucky, and Glenda Jones and husband Tom, Eddyville, Kentucky; two brothers, William Moses Foy Jr. and wife Carolyn, Murray, Kentucky, and Robert Foy and wife Becca, Mayfield, Kentucky; sister-in-law Charlotte Foy, Sedalia, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one grandson, David S. Wood, one sister, Shirley Elmore, two brothers, John and J.C. Foy, and one granddaughter-in-law, Karla Wood.

A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Cuzco Cemetery. Pastor John Duncan will officiate. Online condolences can be shared at
