Dubois County Sports Scores

Dubois County (NNDC):   The Jasper Wildcats and Northeast Dubois Jeeps Baseball teams were in action on Friday night as was the Jeeps Softball team.   In what turned out to be a rainy night on the area diamonds, a pitchers dual ensued at Jasper as the Wildcats and Shakamak went 10 innings before Jasper picked up a walk with bases loaded in the bottom of the inning giving the Cats a 1-0 victory over the Lakers.   Trevor Krapf picked up the win on the mound for Jasper.

The Northeast Dubois Jeeps hosted the Heritage Hills Patriots in high school baseball and both teams were held scoreless through the first two innings before the Patriots gained control of the game, plating 2 runs in the third and fourth inning along with 4 more in the fifth.   Northeast Dubois was unable to score in the bottom of the 5th and trailed 8-0 when the heavy rains shortened the game.  Logan Mehringer took the loss for the Jeeps.

While the Patriots and Jeeps were going head to head on the baseball diamond, their respective school softball teams also faced each other.   The heavy rains also wreaked havoc on the softball field as the game ended in a 4-4 tie.   The Patriots jumped out to a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the third inning before the Jeeps struck for 2.   Heritage Hills added one run in the fourth inning before Northeast Dubois tied the game in the bottom of the 5th as the Patriots had two runners cross the plate, tying up the game at 4.   As the rain continued to fall, play was halted for a short period before resuming in the top of the 6th inning.   The heavy rain ended up winning this battle as the game was called due to the weather in the 6th, thus ending in a tie.  Northeast Dubois finished with 4 runs on 8 hits.

Jasper 1 – Shakamak 0 (10 innings)

Heritage Hills 8 – Northeast Dubois 0 (game shortened due to rain)

Northeast Dubois 4 – Heritage Hills 4 (game shortened due to rain)
