Robert E. “Bob” Thacker, 82, Huntingburg

Robert E. “Bob” Thacker, 82, of Huntingburg, died Thursday, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Crystal June 18, 1936, to Wallace and Lowell (Cave) Thacker. He married Monica Terwiske June 15, 1963, in Ireland.

Bob was the owner/operator of Tri-State Communications in Evansville. He attended Ole Miss and Oakland City College where he playing sports. He was a member of Holland American Legion Post 343, the Huntingburg Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Huntingburg Country Club. Bob was an avid golfer, sports fan, and supporter of Southridge High School athletics. He served in the United States Army where he was a member of the basketball and baseball teams.

He is survived by his wife, Monica Thacker; two daughters, Beth Kippenbrock and husband Roger, Ferdinand, and Maria Thacker, Jasper; one sister, Margaret Seitz, Bloomington; and five grandchildren, Kelsey, Morgan, Shelby, Josh, and Parker Kippenbrock; and one great-grandchild, Kayden Kerstiens.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Lon Thacker, one son, Barry Thacker, and one brother, Wally Thacker.

Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Tuesday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Online condolences can be shared at Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with military rites conducted by the Holland American Legion.
