Helen S. Fleck, 94, Huntingburg

Helen S. Fleck, 94, of Huntingburg, died Monday, March 25, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. She was born in Schnellville February 23, 1925, to Joseph and Leona (Morgenroth) Stratman. She married Aloysius Fleck June 7, 1947, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville. He died April 29, 1993.

Helen was a homemaker; an exceptional cook; enjoyed gardening, creating quilt blocks and cross-stitching, and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg and its St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality.

She is survived by one son, Larry Fleck and wife Andrea, Indianapolis; one brother, Harold Stratman and wife Cindy, Brownsburg; one sister, Mary Ann Bromm Felker, Elgin, Illinois; four grandchildren, Dora Hughey and husband David, Alex Fleck and wife Kacie, Nathan Fleck and wife Amanda, and Gabriel Fleck and wife Erin; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, Arnold, Robert, Herbert, and Joseph Stratman.

Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. Thursday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A parish rosary prayer vigil will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
