Rose Marie McKibben, 92, Dubois

Rose Marie McKibben, 92, of Dubois, died Sunday, March 24, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. She was born in Martin County August 9, 1926, to Henry and Mary (Mann) Bauer. She married James C. McKibben (Charlie) June 23, 1946. He died February 4, 2005.

Rose was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois. She was from a musical family and played the guitar from age 8 to age 91. She also enjoyed spending time with her church family.

She is survived by three daughters, Ruth Jones, Dubois, Dianne Pankey, Shelbyville, and Kathye LeMay, Tucson, Arizona; two sons, Terry G. McKibben and wife Julie, Henderson, Kentucky, and Dale McKibben and wife Karen, Bloomington; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Zehr and husband Armin, Dubois, Helen Greene, Shelbyville, and Ann Troutman and husband Lee, French Lick; and four brothers, Pete Bauer and wife Leah, Greenwood, Louis Bauer and wife Helen, Haysville, August “Augie” Bauer and wife Helen, Haysville, and Kenneth Bauer, Dubois.

Private visitation is scheduled from 1:30-2 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter’s Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Northwood Retirement Community. Online condolences can be shared at Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. John Sterrett will officiate.
