Bret A. Horne, 59, Jasper

Bret A. Horne, 59, of Jasper, died Saturday, March 16, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Jasper November 4, 1959, to Lee “Toot” and Perline (Vogler) Horney. He married Sun Kwai Ying (Amy)

Bret was a 1978 graduate of Jasper High School. For the last 20 years, he resided in New York state, working as a manufacturer’s representative.

He is survived by his wife, Sun Kwai “Amy” Ling, Jasper; his parents, Toot and Perline Horney, Jasper; one sister, Kim Lottes and husband Patrick, Jasper; two brothers, Scott (Cindy) Horney and wife City, and Mike Horney, and wife Diann, all of Jasper; three step-children, James, Jack, and Tony DiTuro, nieces and nephews Luke and Matthew Lottes, Al Emily, and God-child Madylin Horney, Nick Baglan, and Mia and Hali Horney.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ben and Blanche Vogler, and his paternal grandparents, Ray and Agnes Horney.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial contributions can be made to the Indiana Donor Network (indianadonornetwork.org/foundation) or to a favorite charity. Online condolences can be shared at www.becherkluesner.com.  A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at the funeral home with burial following at a later date. Father Ray Brenner will officiate.
