Severe Weather on it’s Way (UPDATED FOR TORNADO WATCHES AND WARNINGS)

Dubois County (NNDC):

According to the National Weather Service, Dubois and surrounding counties may experience high winds and heavy rain over the day ot two.  Thursday the NWS issued a tornado watch for Dubois County and tornado warnings for Pike & Spencer Counties and the Evansville area.

The bulk of the strong storm system headed our way will contain high winds, heavy rain, lightning and possible hail. Some isolated severe weather will occur as the storm moves through Wednesday night into Thursday.

With high winds, there is always the chance of power lines getting knocked down and possible flooding may also happen.  Given the fact that our area has already saturated ground, drivers should remain cautious.

The public is asked to monitor weather conditions as this unusual system moves through our area.
