Huntingburg Man Sentenced to 9 Years in Jail

Dubois County (NNDC):

A man who struck a Huntingburg police officer with brass knuckles on February 11, Austin Zehr was sentenced in the Dubois Circuit Court to 9 years in prison. 

In January, Zehr pled guilty to Attempted Aggravated Battery which is a level 3 felony.  Intimidation is a level 5 felony and battery against a Public Safety Official which is a level 6 felony.

The attack on the officer is a reminder of the risks that police face willing every day as they protect our community and that this kind of violence will not be tolerated in Dubois County.
