Dubois County (NNDC):  The IHSAA Boys Basketball Sectional is less than a week away and area teams are wrapping up their regular season schedule.   Forest Park wrapped up their 2018-19 campaign on Tuesday night and are gearing up for the Class 2A Sectional next week.   The Rangers improved to 14-9 on the season with a 49-43 win over Gibson Southern (5-16).  Curt Hopf and Drew Howard each had 18 points to lead Forest Park.   The Rangers will prepare for Perry Central (8-14) as the Commodores and Forest Park will meet in the first round of the Sectional at Huntingburg Memorial Gymnasium.   Jasper and Northeast Dubois will close out their regular seasons on Thursday night as the Wildcats will host North Daviess and the Jeeps will travel to Tecumseh.  Southridge is at home on Friday to face Boonville in their regular season finale.

In Girls Basketball, Jaspers Kortney Ruhe was selected by the Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association as one of their 2019 regional All-Stars.   She’ll now participate in the 2019 Spring Classic which is being held at Bloomington North High School.  The Jasper Senior averaged 12.8 points per game this past season.

Tickets for the upcoming Boys Basketball Sectionals are now available.   Tickets for the Class 3A Washington Sectional can be purchased at the main office of Southridge High School and will also be available at their Friday night home game with Boonville.   Ticket sales will end at 1pm on Tuesday February 26th.   The tickets for the Class 2A Sectional that’s taking place at Huntingburg Memorial Gymnasium are currently on sale at Forest Park high school daily from 8am-noon and 1pm-3pm.   Tickets are $10 for the entire tournament and $6 for single session tickets.
