Dale W. Hamm, 81, Jasper

Dale W. Hamm, 81, of Jasper, died Sunday, February 17, at his home. He was born in Pikce County August 26, 1937, to George and Ruby (Willis) Hamm. He married Joan Furman December 28, 1956, in Shawneetown, Illinois.

Dale retired from Jasper Cabinet Company after 40 years of service and drove for Ruxer Ford in Jasper for 14 years. He was a member of the Church of God in Petersburg. He was an avid fan of Indiana University basketball, the Chicago Cubs, and the Indiana Pacers fan. He enjoyed riding his Goldwing Trike with his dog Precious, bowling, and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan Hamm; one son, Robert Hamm and wife Geri (Loechte), Jasper, one granddaughter, Courtney Hamm (Bill Perry), Middlesex, North Carolina; one grandson, Derek Hamm and wife Kayla, Flint, Texas; five great -grandchildren, Nolan, Rozlyn, Reagan, Gracie, and Landon; and one sister, Eunice “Tude” Cardinal, Olney, Illinois.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Loretta Hamm, and four brothers, Melvin “Bud”, Vernon “Pid”, Donald, and Raymond Hamm.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions can be made to the Petersburg Church of God or to a favorite charity. Pastor Don Fausnaugh will officiate.
