Dubois County (NNDC):  The IHSAA Wrestling Semi-State took place at the Ford Center on Saturday with 13 area wrestlers participating and looking for a trip to the State Finals which will take place at Bankers Life Fieldhouse next weekend.  Representing the Jasper Wildcats were: Jainer Milanes (106), Ian Giesler (132), Zach Flynn (182), Ashton Schuetter (195) and Will Collon (220).   The Southridge Raiders sent 7 wrestlers: Tanner Kane (120), Patrick Sander (132), Brad Springer (152), Tucker Schank (160), Sam Schroeder (170), Chase Taylor (220) and Wyatt Kramer (285) while Forest Park sent Isaac Brosmer (106) to represent the Rangers.

In a day that saw several area wrestlers vying for the trip to Indianapolis, Zach Flynn (182) from Jasper was the only athlete to move on from Dubois County.    Flynn placed 3rd in the 182 pound weight class with the top 4 heading to the State Finals.   The Wildcats Ian Giesler made it to the ticket round with Flynn but lost his match with Brownsburg’s Drake Campbell ending his season.

The Southridge Raiders sent 4 wrestlers to the ticket round before being bounced from the tournament.  Tanner Cane (120), Brad Springer (152), Tucker Schank (160) and Wyatt Kramer (285) fell just short for Southridge.  Forest Parks Isaac Brosmer (106) dropped his first round match.

A single game on the hardwoods Saturday night saw the Southridge Raiders host a solid North Daviess Cougars (15-6) team.   Southridge improved their record to 15-5 with a 55-44 win over the Cougars.   Up next for Southridge is a Friday night visit to South Spencer to face the Rebels (7-12).   The Raiders are also at home next weekend as they will host the Loogootee Lions (6-12) on Saturday night.
