MasterBrand Recognizes Employees For Service to Country and Company

Jasper (NNDC):

Senior Vice President Bob Donnelly was presented with the Patriot Award at MasterBrand headquarters, Thursday afternoon.

Also recognized was a citizen soldier in his department while he was deployed to Kuwait, Nick Arthur who served in Kuwait in the National Guard.

Major Arthur served as the executive officer of the special troops battalion of the 38th Brigade for a 9 month deployment. He was second in command of a battalion of 750 soldiers supporting the troops in the area with duties including everything from customs enforcement, logistics, and postal duties and also received a Bronz Star for his merit.

Nick has served in the Army National Guard for 17 years and was previously deployed to Afghanistan.

During his deployment, he missed many family events such as his daughter’s graduation from Jasper High School as well as moving her to Ball State University.

But the support he had with MasterBrand during his deployment gave him inspiration to put his supervisor in for the award.

He remarked that the company values are superior and that it is hard when you come in and tell your supervisors you will be gone for a year but everyone was supportive.

Major Arthur presented MasterBrand’s Chief Information Officer Samir Shaw with a flag that had been flown in Kuwait as well as a certificate of appreciation from the 38th Sustainment Brigade for his support of Arthur while he was deployed.

The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of duties including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
